IITC, a subsidiary of Nortel Government Solutions, developed the Water Quality Analysis Set: Purification (WQAS-P) to be used by the Army's Tank, Automotive, and Armament Command (TACOM). The WQAS-P (NSN 6630-01-477-2395), produced in compliance with Commercial Item Description (CID) A-A-59338A, is a one-man portable suitcase kit containing equipment for testing water quality. The kit is self-contained in a gasketed waterproof case. Foam inserts secure equipment in the case, and foam liners protect sensitive instruments. This kit is used for the assessment of raw water quality at potential water points for water purification, in operations to monitor the treatment process, and to perform chemical analysis in assessment of the quality of potable water in support of the water purification mission.
