Mr. Sherman's primary focus involves identifying operational and technology trends in the government sector that will define the strategic direction of Nortel Government Solutions. He also provides input to the Nortel Research and Development organization that will influence the appropriate investment in technologies and capabilities that will address federal requirements.

He has been involved in the telecommunications industry for over 20 years in both the federal and commercial sectors. Since joining Nortel in 1994, he has held several senior technical and management roles. Before his current assignment in the CTO's office, Mr. Sherman served as Vice-President of Sales Engineering, where he and his team were responsible for developing secure voice, data, wireless and optical solutions.
