Richard Gorman is the Mobility Architect for Nortel Government Solutions and has responsibility for the company's wireless portfolio. As the wireless portfolio owner, he is responsible for setting 12-24 month forward looking market / customer needs analysis, technology recommendations, product gap analysis and possible alternative sourcing and go-to-market strategies, in addition to supporting the sales teams and their customers in developing their technical solutions.
Prior to his current role in Nortel Government Solutions, he was a CISSP and Security Specialist for the Nortel Federal organization and a Consulting Engineer in Nortel's Professional Services organization. As a consulting engineer, he architected data centers for multiple Fortune 500 companies. He has worked at Nortel / Nortel Government Solutions since 1998 as part of the Bay Networks acquisition were he served a WAN router support engineer.
Prior to Nortel and Nortel Government Solutions, he was the Senior Network Engineer at the world's largest credit union, Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU). For many years before NFCU he worked as a US defense contractor supporting the US Navy's Financial Management Program and the US Navy's Foreign Military Sales office supporting the Australian Navy's destroyer and frigate class ships.
